CAN YOU HELP EVERY WEEK?
- Catechist: teach, co-teach or assist in a religious education class
We’ll take you through “basic training”, but you should start with a love of working with children, a love of your faith, and a willingness to share your faith with children. Fingerprinting & background check required.
- Office assistant: collect and record attendance, phone absentees, man the office in my absence, miscellaneous office jobs.
- Traffic control at class arrival and dismissal
ONCE A MONTH?
- Children’s Liturgy of the Word at the 10:30 Mass
- Children’s Liturgies—special prayer celebrations during the class time, and occasional participation in special weekend Masses
- Music for liturgies during class time
- Bulletin boards in the RE building
ONCE IN A WHILE?
- Christmas Pageant
- Costume repair & maintenance
- Receptions for First Communion or Confirmation
- Retreats & other child or youth spiritual events
- Family fun stuff—picnics, parties & trips
OTHER PARISH PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN & YOUTH
- Altar Server (grade 4 and over)
- Children’s Choir – Times for auditions and rehearsals will be announced; please watch the bulletin for details!
OTHER PARISH PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS & YOUNG ADULTS
- Lector at weekend Masses
- Minister of Communion at weekend Masses, or nursing home & hospital visit
- Usher at weekend Masses
- Middle School Youth Ministry
- High School Youth Ministry
